Proprietary files? Empty Proprietary files?

Post  swlady Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:20 am

Hi everyone.

On one of my yahoo groups, someone brought up a concern that I have no idea about since I am new to cutting machines.
She said this: Silhouette saves their files as .studio which is proprietary. They cannot be opened in any other program. She also said you cannot backup your files and are only able to re-download them 3 times.
So, the question is, can the .studio files be saved as anything else that will open in another cutter/program? I only have Silhouette so can't test this. Also, can you back up your library?

Any ideas?
Thanks!

As far as I know you can't save in Silhouette Studio in any other format and no other cutter can open them.
Maybe the yahoo silhouette group can help you.
