Susie was having some problems cutting an image she found and saved to her computer. Here is how you cut your own image out.

Open the file you are wanting to cut.

Make an adjustments of sizing and coloring you would like. Print your image with the registrations marks. It is the 2nd to last box on your toolbar on the right. Click to show registration marks. Print your image.

Next click on your Trace tool box.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Choose the Select Trace area and draw a box around your image. You then choose which trace option you would like to do. for this one I did trace outer edge.

then load and cut as usual. It cut it out fine but it did cut the box around the entire image as well. I am guessing if you dont want that then just go beyond your page and it shouldnt cut.

Sorry the screen shot isnt showing all of the screen...I have to get the house cleaned while the Baby is sleeping right now. I will try and fix it later...

Very cool tutorial.
I was using the sketch pen to sketch out the design and that is where I got the box. The Silhouette would sketch out the box around the sketched image.
I can do it this way but I was wanting to sketch without the box.
Thanks for the cool tutorial. I printed it out.

Well try stretching the box all the way off the page and see if it will not print it then. Should work...let us know.

I can't see the box until I go to sketch it or cut and then it shows up. I've tried to get it to show up so I can delete it but I can't. It is weird.

The box that is cutting is the box you made when you selected the trace area.

It does it with all the digi's and when I use the Trace tool I select the outside of the image so why would it draw a box? Boy I'm confused.

I ended up getting a hold of support and they couldn't help with a few emails so they asked me to call them today. I wanted to try RE-downloading the software first and their was a "FIX" option so I tried that and now I'm able to NO cut the line around the image and still can cut the image or sketch it out. Smile
Thanks for the help that was given here,
Susie
