Hi!

Ok, this is gonna sound like a dumb question, but I've never done scrapbooking or card making before. I have been cuttings lots of fun stuff tonight and in the shapes that are included with the Silhouette software, there is one called 'card'. It is for a note card and an envelope. If you look in 'My Library' it shows a pink envelope with a blue card. So I printed this one out. But it has 3 pieces, not 2. The envelope, the card and another shape that is like the back and top part of the envelope. What is this for?
The only thing I can think is that maybe it's to cut from a different paper and blue to the inside of the envelope so the inside is a different color than the outside. Is that right? Or am I totally missing something?

Thanks!

I have another question too! Boy... this is what happens when you decide to make cards, LOL!

I can't get the 'perforate' to work correctly... I can get it to perforate the whole outside edge of one half of a square, but can't get it to perforate down the middle.

What I've done is made a round cornered rectangle. Then I replicate it and make sure the inside edges are intersecting. I select both squares and use perforate, it perforates the whole outside of the card. I select one square and use perforate and it perforates that whole square. How do I get it to perforate only the intersected line?

Thanks again!

PS. I may be asking lots of questions since we will be stuck in due to the blizzard I love you

Very Happy Glad I am not the only one that couldnt figure out that card!! I just tossed that extra piece. I had my husband look at it too and he couldnt figure it out either. I wish they would give some instructions of these shapes!! About the perforation not coming out right...so are you sizing it different from what it comes up as? Maybe that is why but as to how to fix it I dont know. Do you need to add more perforated lines to it? It is under the scissor tab.

To get the line to perforate down the middle, select that line (ungroup if you need to) and then select the cutting tools (the little scissors on the top right corner), select perforate and that should do it.

LOL Admin! Well, my guess must be right then. I bet you are supposed to cut it out of a different paper and glue it to the inside like those lined envelopes.

Some of these included shapes are very weird to figure out, lol

Donna, I used the rectangle tool to make my shape, so ungroup doesn't ungroup anything. But... I did figure it out. I made my rectangle, replicated it, made sure the inside lines were touch, then hit weld. That took out the line down the middle. Then I drew a line with the line tool and perforated it. The reason I didn't just make one big rectangle and do that was because I had a certain shape I wanted to duplicate.

Thanks!
